What is Twitter? Twitter is a "real-time" social network that allows users to share information, follow others and interact with links, stories, opinions, pictures and videos in a 140-character micro blog post.

Terms You Need To Know To Get Started:
  1. Tweet: a short (140 character limited) burst of information to share with others
  2. #Hashtag: the # symbol, called a hashtag, is used in Twitter to categorize tweets for reference and searching features
  3. @Reply: using @reply is a way of PUBLICLY responding to another Twitter user
  4. Twitter Handle: the username of a Twitter account selected by the user that is also used in their URL on Twitter (example--www.twitter.com/pkrambeck)
  5. RT (retweet): Retweet is used to show you are tweeting content that has been posted by another user. The format is RT @username where username is the twitter name of the person you are retweeting.
